It's hard to say, check every function and option in the notebook and make sure all are working, the one that is not may be the culprit.
USB, firewire serial & parallel ports
modem, bluetooth,Pcmcia slot, touchpad and stick and software functions for them, make sure all the special function keys work, volume keys, access IBM key....you get the idea.

I have had this before with several IBM models. It was always an APM driver required for me. I would go to the IBM website and download the latest APM drivers. Let me know how you fare [ :D]

Yes, it is the SD slot. Unfortunately, the driver is not available on the web. I have the same problem and this is what IBM support says:

"Unfortunately, this file is not available from the web. Please recover the machine using the blue Access IBM button, copy the IBMTOOLS folder to CD, then reload your operating system."

If you manage to find it, would you mind to give me a copy? I also don't want to reinstall the whole thing again. Thanks.
