Have you ever replaced your keyboard or palm rest on your Lenovo Thinkpad?

I want to find out the statistics of people who have replaced there keyboard or palm rest before.

If you have changed your keyboard or palm rest before, state why you did!

I've changed my keyboard several times. The first time I had split a coke on it and forgot to run water through it (became so sticky is was unusable). The second time I asked for a new ThinkPoint tip (I have an accidental damage warranty - anything can be replaced) and received a new keyboard (with a new TrackPoint tip).

Had to replace my palmrest because the mouse button squeaked every time I used it, it wasn't a functional issue, but it was loud, and annoying for a $1800 laptop, works great now, and I LOVE this keyboard (stock)

I replaced the keyboard because of the flexy T#00 series keyboards. The Lenovo forums took care of that happily :)

Same here on the T400—replaced the new and improved (and inferior) T400 keyboard with that of the T61.

Had to swap the palm rest because the left touchpad button had broken off when I received the laptop.

I kept mine until they began to fall off by themselves. Then I removed them entirely.

Considering this, I think I might remove them from the start next time around.
