I see sticker-skins out there that claim to protect vs. scratching, but I'm looking for something more protective, like the skins you stretch over a cell phone. Or leather, something like that.
Any recommendations?
Thanks!

You don't need it with a Thinkpad, you only need it if you have a Apple Macbook.
-
That's not exactly why I asked, but... why do you say that?
-
IMO, the material used on the chasis of Thinkpads are quite sratch-resistant. The condition of my ~4-year-old T60 looks similar to my 3-month-old T420.
I never saw a single Thinkpad with a skin/cover. Yet, I see almost 90% MBP covered in one. Seems to be a valid reason in and of itself not to get one for your TP. -
I'm not sure I find either one terribly compelling.
Truth is, I don't like company logos; it's my computer, not theirs.
If I can also protect the computer, too, by covering them, then so much the better. -

15"/16" laptop Skins - Fathead Official Site are pretty well known. There are lots of other suppliers on the internet. Google or bing it.
I cover all my ThinkPads. When I re-sell them used the lid is generally scratch free and people like that. -
There are some pre-cut X220 skins available on eBay like this.
-
Zaz, thanks - that looks excellent.
-
Whoops, I thought we were on the X220. I don't know if they make skins for the T520.
-
-
Yes, they say they'll do it for a T520!
Thanks. -
If you don't mind some cutting you could do this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/not...lds/450867-custom-home-made-leather-skin.html

Also, both laptops get scratches. Let's leave the Mac bashing at the door. -
Do it like my Wooden HP

That wooden HP... DAMN. That's pretty impressive. Not my style, but still really freakin' cool!
