Hello everyone. I am an avid lover of the IBM thinkpad series but i guess the new Lenovo deal has me questioning the direction of the Thinkpads.

    According to this website,

Lenovo has changed Hard Drive maintenante policy for security purpose
Lenovo has created a new BIOS for the IBM T43 which has added support for specific hard drives. These hard drives are mostly Hitachi and Fujitsui hard drives. Check this list

I tried to update my T43 with a NEW Seagate 100bg Momentus Hard drive and I have had nothing but problems. I use Norton Ghost to do the hard drive copying where the NEW hard drive is attached to a USB enclousure kit. After ghosting the drive, i try to put it in the laptop but nothing boots. It is just a black screen with a blinking cursor on the top left side.

Has anyone have any sucess with a Momentus hard drive and T43?
