After years of Toshiba and Dell laptops, I'm finally upgrading to a T60p-- can't wait!

Since I transport my laptop a lot and use the keyboard even more, I've always had problems with paint wear on the outside of the case, as well as on the palmrest and mouse buttons. Is this ever a problem on the T-series Thinkpads?

Also, does anyone have a tip on cleaning dirt and finger oils off of a keyboard? I'd like to keep my computer looking brand new as long as possible.

As far as paint wear on the outside of the case - yes. I've had my T43 for 3 months and the two corners (near the top of the LCD screen) have some paint wear. I guess this has to do with the rubbing between the case and the bottom of my notebook bag.

For careful Thinkpad cleaning take a look at:

...which might give you an idea how to clean your notebook from time to time. ;)

Personally I've always use a soft/gentle cloth with a mixture of 50%/50% Isopropyl alcohol and water to clean my thinkpads. You can usually use this mixture to clean all parts of the notebook, e.g. the TFT, case and keyboard. - BTW, this was in the past also the recommanded way from IBM to clean thinkpads.

Ditto. The metal on the corners of mine is starting to show by now.
