When i started windows a couple of days ago i got this "your windows password has recently been changed, please enter it again for confirmation" (or smililar) from pw-maganer. Worth noting is that i have NOT changed my win pw.

No i cant even access PW-maganer, when i use my fingerprint it says "authentication failed" and when i enter the password it just goes away and nothing happens. Anyone else expreienced this? It is rather annoying since i would like to have it working.
Re-installing it didnt help, do i need to "purge" the register or something?

    Thanks in advance!

    /JF

Go into the Bios on your thinkpad, you should be able to wipe the fingerprint security data from there... BE WARNED, anything you encrypted with the thing will be inaccessible after nuking the data.
Otherwise it should let you log in after words

Iv'e done that. It still asks for both fingerprint and password and gives the same "authentication failed".

It alsos asks for password concerning "user key recovery". I have no ****ing idea (pardon my french) what pssword to use and i have tried my HDD-pw, power-on-pw and windows-login pw.

While im sure at this point im beating a dead horse... But this is why i usually recommend against using all the hifalutin crazy security options...set a complex 15-20 character windows password and move on with your life... If i had to guess the data on it was corrupted...

Things to try if you dare:

unplug it and remove the battery
Take the bastard apart, find the CMOS battery and rip it out.. leave it like that for an hour then put it back together.
Then boot once again... if that doesn't clear the bios password i would just call lenovo...

do know though that if your HDD password also got corrupted that HD might as well be a paper weight now...

I'm sorry i cant be more helpful...
