    System: T61, T8300, Quadro NVS 140m.

So my problem is like this: Whenever I'm playing games, take for example Team Fortress 2, the first 10-15min into the game it'll play just fine, all smooth and no lag at all, averaging 30fps+.

But after that, there is some kind of a pausing kind of lag. There will be a very short pause in the game ones every 2 seconds. It's especially apparent when you are moving in the game. It seems this "lag" does not affect fps, I'm still averaging 30fps+ even with the "lag".

This problem is not game specific, it occurs in almost every game I played. I did some checking and found that the "lag" start happening when the GPU hits 96 C.

Temps while playing TF2 (MAX columm):

This problem started when my motherboard was replaced due to GPU failure.

    Any suggestions?

overheating up to a certain temperature will trigger the thermal management to throttle down either the CPU or GPU in order to prevent further overheating. There is a chance that you would need your motherboard replaced again.

The temperature should not get to 96 degrees for the nvidia gpu.

    Thanks for the reply!

Just a thought, is there a need to reapply thermal paste on the CPU/GPU after a mobo replacement? The lenovo service rep that serviced my T61 simply swap the mainboards without applying any.

Yeah dude get it replaced again... those temps are completely out of wack, after applying fresh thermal paste, (no more toothpaste) to my CPU and GPU, my GPU maxes at 77, and that's playing GTA 4 with Realizm 6.2 and ultimate textures 2.0, looks fabulous too i might say. Call em up and tell them, or try fresh thermal paste and see if that makes any diff, and undervolt your CPU, since they both share the same heatsink.

don't reapply with your own thermal paste this will definitely void your remaining warranty, get it repaired by Lenovo ASAP.
