    Have there been any reports of improved battery life for ThinkPad X61 with the new Penryn processors? And possibly lower temperatures? Fans? Any observations are welcome. Thanks! :)

    So no none has actually received a X61 equipped with a Penryn?

    they're out only for penn state students/teachers and other schools

    Oh, where I am currently located (Taiwan) they have X61 available with Penryn. I took for granted that at least the U.S would have received them earlier, because that's how it been so far. It took ages for the X61s to be available here, for instance.
