So looks like the only change is the CPU and no other updates like the graphics chipset

it's not like they could as the current card in their computers are already the most powerful one (at least i know the one for the t61p is)

The GPU is not up to Lenovo, it's up to Nvidia or ATI, unless Lenovo will make a 17'' model ( which I hope !). Otherwise, you gotta wait.

So the only thing that they will change is the CPU? Will I be albe to upgrade to a penryn CPU in a current T61P?

there will need to be a bios update and a architecture update so i don't think penryn will be compatible with current santa rosa platform.....anybody have other ideas?

I know this is in chinese but it seems that this guy managed to put a T9500 into his T61P.
