    Hi,
I am a college student and I need a new laptop.
I have posted this in the other forum:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=245283

    I was recommended the T61p.
I am thinking about getting it with the NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M (256MB Open GL) video card.

Can anyone give me their thoughts after using the T61p for video editing with premier/ after effects ? Or even programs such as Maya or how the latest games run on it. also, it would be nice if you can post your specs (memory, graphics card)

    THank you for your thoughts!

How concerned about accurate color with no dithering are you? It will likely be an issue with any of the T61p LCD panels you get.

while the screens arent the best, you will most likely benefit from accurate color, etc if you get a calibrator from companies like colorvision etc. If you are even remotely serious about having a proper display of your work, then you should have one already regardless of whether its a desktop system, macbook pro, top end display or not.

Gotta pay money to do things right. Sucks but oh well.

Using a T61p with Pro Engineer daily for work! Everything runs greats and I'm working with fairly large assemblies every once in a while. If you're gong to do 3D CAD work or 3D modeling of any kind, I second the suggestion to get the 1920x1200 screen, you won't regret it.

    I have the 14" SXGA t61p with 128MB Quadro 570m.

Along with some nonstandard drivers from laptopvodep2go, I can play all the latest games on highest settings.

I just beat MASS EFFECT and I ran the game at ULTRA HIGH for every setting and at max resolution (1440x1050) and got like 30fps.

The 256mb will be even better!
