To those of you who have 7,200 rpm HDD in their machines ... are they much faster than the 5,400 rpm ? I mean do you see quicker boots and faster back-ups etc? I am about to buy a Lenovo X200 with a 320 GB HDD (7200) and 3GB RAM. Also with a 6 cell battery Lenovo Europe site tells me it will weigh 2.7 pounds, is that correct? We are talking X200 here, not X200s. What I do see is that the newest version X200 does have a LED 1280 x 800 screen. Maybe they saved some weight there?

X200 with a 6cell is suppose to be about 3.2lbs. So I doubt they could save that much weight from the new screen/assembly.

Jaredy should be right. There should be a difference. But you would not notice that much difference on weight, nor on the 5400 or 7200rpm HDD.

If you really care about the difference on boot time, you should get a SSD drive. Of course, the difference on price is also very obvious there.

Jaredy I checked it again and it says 1.23 KG (2.8 pounds) with 6 cell battery and this is on the Lenovo site ... strange. Sounds like they put X200s specs there. Any idea how much time one gets out of a 6 cell on an X200 with let's say brightness on 40%?

Probably about 5hrs? But my power usage is usually never ideal since I have a bunch of stuff running that from when I am docked. I can never really get it down to the low power usage that I had when new, heh.

Firefox and digsby don't help either.

Really Lenovo should get the weight correct on their European web site ... then again at 3.2 pounds it is still the same weight as the X100e ... more reviews talking about the heat, but I do like the form factor and not sure if I will get used to a trackpoint though I did have one back in 1998 on the Toshiba Satellite Laptop. Why don't they simply put an Intel SU chip in the X100e ?
