The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Performance: Intel Turbo Memory vs. SD card?

    Hi Timd75, driver installation ( http://www.antifart.com/stuff/Ricoh R5C8xx Drivers ONLY.zip) worked for me. It's strange that I bought my T61 months after this driver update was released but my Thinkpad was not equipped with it...
    I've also seen that Lenovo has released a new driver too ( http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-67791.html, note I've not tested it)
    Note that I tried KB923293 but it didn't work for me (installation issue, my XP is not US, and even if Microsoft site cites this update was for the whole world it was rejeceted). I also tried an equivalent italian update sent by Microsoft without success.
    So for me it's definitely a driver issue.
