X61s brought it 5 months ago.
In Jan, my computer was blue screen when it was loading into vista. (the second time). Before blue screen happen, the vista suddently said the sound hardware was stopping working, I had to restart it. then it dead
I was assuming there was a hardware problem in my system. even I had backup
So I called lenovo technical support. The rep is not bad, he sent me out the box in next day. I'm very statisfied their service.
After 4 days, I recevied my computer.
Ok, while I was turning it on, it took about 10-15 min to load into vista so I can open the IE or normal use. The problem was still there, the sound icon still had stop working sign.
Ok, I gave up, then I reloaded my backup, it's working fine again.
But when I used the notebook without AC power, there is always a noise came from item. Like ZZZZZZZiiiiiii......it really bothered me casued it was too loud, my x61s didn't have this problem before "their dear service". I guessed the technician changed some hardwares.
I finally decided to call lenovo again a few weeks ago, then sent it to them.
This time, the rep is prefect! I called them during 9:00 pm. He was awesoem.
Then I recived my labtop 2 days ago, when I opned the box, I saw there was a paper which was marked down the name of technician, case number, what parts were changed...
I want to say what the Fxxxx to the first technician! Because the first one didn't give me that paper, he is a such , I really want to compain him...but I don't know his number.
I'm assuming he(the first one) knew he made my notebook in troubles.
Ok, after I turned it on, the noise was still there but it was not as loud as before.
I had posted my problem in lenovo fourm, only one person gave me a suggestion and no lenovo employee responed!.
I have tried his suggestion , but.....it was still there.
I finally gave up, I guess I'm going to sell it then get some mony to buy a new one.
Please don't send your labtop to there RMA center if the problem is not that hard to solve by yourself.
Since you send your notebook, please don't expect your notebook will be perfect again....

I had a buzzing/whistling sound in my x60s that I detected a couple of days ago. It turns out that the sound was coming from the 65w power adapter. When the affected power adapter was plugged into the x60s, it also made the same sound as the power adapter.
As a test, I plugged the 90W adapter from my t61 into the x60s and no buzzing/whistling sound was heard so my conclusion was that it was indeed the power adapter causing me these problems.
I called tech support at about 3am in the morning yesterday and a new one is on its way. -
I had a cracked palmrest and called in to create a case this past November. They made me send the laptop back to them (as opposed to sending me the replacement part). I decided to wait until April to send it in as I couldn't afford to lose my laptop for more than 3 days. Now my laptop has been sitting in the depot since April 15, apparently the case is too old and they refuse to make any repairs. What makes things worse is the fact that despite calling in to IBM and the depot every business day since April 21st demanding my laptop back, they have yet to do anything.

The problem is, no matter how good or bad the csr rep is, the depot is outsourced to another company, which, frankly, sucks.
