Hi all,
I have a new 14.1" T61p running Vista, and I have Photoshop CS3. When Photoshop starts, it tells me "The Monitor Profile 'Lenovo Thinkpad LCD Monitor' appears to be defective. Please rerun your monitor calibration software." I have options to "Ignore Profile" and "Use Anyway".
Anyone encountered this? I tried downloading and installing the latest monitor files from here:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-62923
(this includes TPLCD.icm, the offending monitor profile file) but I still get the error.
Is it possible that TPLCD.icm is indeed defective? I can just imagine the call to tech support, trying to convince them that the profile is defective... yeah, they'll buy that.

i go tthat as well on my CS3, which has always been sluggish, more due to vista. lenovo is right on the ball with all their software and drivers...hah
-
I choose 'Ignore Profile' and it runs fine.
-
FWIW. -
update solved it here on XP with CS2 also

I use CS3 and am using the T61 LCD profile with the 169.09 drivers from laptopvideo2go and I get the error. I chose to ignore it and I dont see any slowdowns in XP.

I had this problem too, but it went away when I installed a program that made a monitor profile for me. Even after I deleted the program the problem seemed to have gone away. With that said, I am sure there is an easier way to get rid of that problem.
Not sure if this method works, but it seems like its worth a try.
1. Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2. Double-click Adobe Gamma.
3. Select Step By Step Wizard, and then click Next.
then take it from there...again have not tried it but I have heard it works because it creates a monitor profile or whatnot. -
I got the same message on my R61i. I just slected ignore and it seems to run fine with no hiccups.

Ran adobe gamma...it did the trick.
-
EDIT: I'm using Vista (x64) -
I don't have Adobe Gama too
I'm with XP -
I don't think cs3 has an adobe gamma.
-
Yes, CS3 doesn't have Gamma anymore.
Here's how to solve the problem:

^ I'm with XP, it doesn't show it like that
I open mine with right-click on the desktop -> Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Color Management .... where mine is set to default and no profile shows in the box. When I click add - I see like 30 different profiles ?!?! -

Same Problem, updated the bios problem fixed.

Replace 'C:\' with your respective Drive letter...
Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Control Panels
In there you should see the file ' Adobe Gamma.cpl'.
Copy and paste that file into 'C:\WINDOWS\system32'
Then go into your Control Panel, then Classic View, and you should see Adobe Gamma in there. -
Nice. I runned a search for "Gamma", before, and nothing had been found... Weird.
-
same thing here, I hit ignore and it runs just fine.
-
will run it later though
