Okay, I just received my 14.1" T60 through my school discount (FedEx literally, just dropped the box off and I havent opened it). However Now I find that I could use the new 15% off coupon for a 15.4 widescreen T60p. I need your opinions on whether I should return my order from school, and get this instead. Here are specs of my laptop.

    Thinkpad T60 (2007-6QU)
    List Price: $2,035.00
    UCSD Price: $1,599.00
    14.1” SXGA+ Core 2 Duo T7400 2.16GHz processor,120GB 5400rpm Hard Drive, 1GB RAM, multi-burner, ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 128MB PCIe, fingerprint reader, Bluetooth, GB Ethernet, 802.11 a/b/g, XP PRO, 9 Cell Battery, 3yr Warranty.

    OR should I buy this?

    ThinkPad T60p - 1,660.30 (after coupon)
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T7200 (2.0GHz, 4MB L2, 667MHz FSB)[1]
    Genuine Windows XP Professional[12]
    15.4 WSXGA+ TFT
ATI Mobility Fire GL V5250 256MB
    2 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)[8]
    Integrated fingerprint reader
    120GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm[4]
DVD Recordable 8x Max Dual Layer, Ultrabay Slim[5]
    ThinkPad 11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter[10]
    6 cell Li-Ion Battery[60]
3 year depot 9x5 Next Business Day

What are the differences in weight and size? How long does a shipment take from lenovo?

Thanks for your help, I must make my final decision today.

thank you! haha, good thing you said that, because in the last few minutes I just opened it up. I don't want to go through anymore hassle of anymore work.

I ask nobody reply in this thread if you are going to say i shouldve gone with the other, haha. Otherwise it will make me feel ****ty.

I will update you all on my new laptop very soon! Thanks again.

Since you are in school I assume you are carrying your T60 to classes. This would be very difficult to do with the 15.4" widescreen.

I have the 15.4" widescreen and wouldn't want to carry it to school. Especially if you have to carry books and binders too.

That coupon didn't work for me along with the academic discount, so I think you probably made the right decision ;)

haha, thanks for the support guys

yeah i knew that, the price above was the price i paid for mine at my school bookstore, while the price for a t60p i couldve bought at lenovo.com with just the coupon applied in combo with the current sale.

anyways, I am loving this thing!!!!!! I plan to eventually put up a review. But I plan to add 1 gig of ram (for total 2 gigs), and also I want to get rid of my 9-cell battery for a 6-cell and maybe a little money.

Oh one more thing, can anyone reccommend a nice tight fit sleeve for this 14.1" t60 (which will then be carried in my targus backpack.)?

    thanks!
