    Hello,

I changed my network password which the print reader was set up to autologon to the laptop by the old IT guy. Now when I scan my finger it says I have the wrong password. If I go to the thinkpad security settings I go to enroll or edit - it basically only let's me scan my finger again if I do that it says - the fingerprint is already enrolled. Cannot enroll this fingerprint - I only found one place to delete my fingerprints and even though I did I still can't scan them again or I get that same message - even after rebooting! I'm going nuts as I can scan someone else's finger but I can't scan my own - any guess on what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks

I'm still stuck - can't find a way to resolve this - anyone know where the profiles are stored or the fingerprints are enrolled?

When you get to the User's Fingers dialog in Enroll or Edit Fingerprints, click on an individual fingerprint and you will be asked if you want to delete it or not...

...but I don't think that is what you want to do anyway. When my logon password has changed, I have found the easiest way to clue in the fingerprint software is to whip through the Enroll or Edit Fingerprint wizard, WITHOUT TOUCHING ANYTHING (just click Next everywhere). The software then uses your latest password. And you don't have to muck around with fingerprints.

BTW I'm using ThinkVantage FingerPrint Software 5.6.1, which is the latest one which the System Update downloaded. Interestingly, the Drivers and Software matrix for my X41 says 5.5 is the latest. Wrong.

All set thanks - uninstalling the fingerprint software and reinstalling solved it.
