Hey guys, I was just wondering if you could post your Screen/KB combo along with ship date for your 15" T61. I just want to know if it's the luck of the draw, or simply a supply demand thing. I am suspecting the latter.

    I'll start off

    T61 15" Samsung/Chicony: Ship Date 8/13

Ok this is starting to get annoying. Please don't start anymore threads like this and your last one on Samsung screens. Many people, especially newbies fall into this creating new threads which don't end up anywhere. They only serve to drive your desire for a laptop you don't have yet and they never go anywhere. I say this because I've seen it happen more times than I can count.

Please don't respond or read my threads if they seem to be bothering you so much. I do appreciate your feedback, but the purpose of this thread is to find out if getting certain screens or KB's is due to the luck of draw or a supply/demand thing....this way...If I am not satisfied, I know there is no point in ordering a new notebook hoping for a better one....This thread may not help you out, but it may help out others. Isn't the purpose of a forum to create threads and get questions answered that can't be answered elsewhere? The more threads, the more searches are available to those in the future looking to get the same question answered

I'm telling you I've seen many newbies all into this trap. They're concerned about this or that, so they make posts and they go nowhere. I'm not stopping you from making new threads, but I'm telling you that you're in a trap that many newbies fall into. So in a way I'm helping you, and in another way I'd really appreciate if you stopped making these threads. This wont help anyone. Actually I should be interested in it, and I'm not. That tells me no one else is. If you were really concerned about helping people you also ask the screen size and type of notebook so that it could be generalized. But since this isn't about that, it's about your excitement, you didn't list any of those VERY relevant things. If you don't like to hear the truth, too bad, but I will say it anyway and no amount of discouragement has or will ever prevent me from doing so.

The last person I remember doing it was eskimochaos lol. You should look at some of his threads like this. They all went nowhere.

Thanks for the suggestion...You may be right..I am a little anxious about getting my thinkpad and reading a lot of threads regarding the samsung/chicony combo makes me nervous....I really wanted a quiet keyboard to type on since I'm awake at odd hours of the night and don't want my typing affecting people (and I do type a lot)...would you happen to know if the chicony KB is really that much more louder than the alps or nmb?

From my experience there is a small number of people on here who really care and can tell the difference between them. Then there are the people who read the messages from the previously mentioned people and think that they got a dud of a keyboard. That happened to me and I was thinking, "Oh man I got an Alps that sucks" but the Alps was great. I think the vast majority on here wouldn't care or couldn't tell the difference between them. They're all great keyboards. Some say the Chicony is louder but I highly doubt it's significant. I've never heard anyone get a Chicony and say they didn't like it. All of the keyboards are great and unless you're an aficionado I don't think you'd be able to tell the difference or care. So my advice is chill out, get some rest and worry about all of that stuff when your laptop actually arrives. Don't let posts you read here convince you that you should send your laptop back before opening it because you got a certain screen or keyboard.

Oh and when you do actually get your laptop let us know how you like it and what you think of the screen and keyboard. It'd be much appreciated.
