OK, so I couldn't figure out how to make a poll, but I thought it would be fun..

    Soft Rim

I've seen countless polls like these. I like the soft rim, second is the soft dome. The classic makes me remind of my old A22e and T30 machines.

There's been several of these polls in the past.

I usually use the soft dome caps, and I'm most used to them. I hate the classic dome cap, since it doesn't feel comfortable to use regularly. Just today, as a matter of fact, I switched to the soft rim cap to see how I'll like it. We'll see ;)

Soft Dome on my Thinkpad, Classic on my HP. I hate the rims, and HP's

Soft dome here. I think the Classic are fine to use as well but are rougher and a bit more harsh. Like t30power said, they remind me of my old T21 i gave away that i wish i didn't.

I use to use the classic one but it sort of gotten rubbed down and less grippy. I have been using the soft rim for a while now and that works out well for me. I do have a lot of extra soft dome ones though for backup too 8).

Soft dome or cat's tongue (classic). The soft rim one catches on my fingernail, so I don't use those.

I'm sure you've all seen it before, but it somehow seems very appropriate to include here. www.xkcd.com/243

Soft rim on my X200. I also use the classic on my Space Saver II's (that's all they'll take).

Since we're not all 13 year old boys, no, it's not appropriate.

I've only used the soft dome on my TP. I used a classic dome facsimile on HP's for years and never liked it. When I saw the options I popped on the soft dome and never looked back. I may try the soft rim out, in an effort to make an informed decision.

On my old T60p I used the classic dome. On my current X300, I use the soft dome...which I prefer. Never tried the Rim.

FYI - you can refurb a trackpoint that's become a little slick. just pop it off your keyboad and rub the cap against your jeans or cube wall. It will take the crud off it without damaging the cap...making it feel new again.

I was using the classic dome for a while but switched over to soft dome when I replaced my keyboard because they included a new one.

...but I love to use my Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 instead :D

Well for the sake of the thread I use the classic tip. I tried the others and they wer OK, but cant go wrong with tried and true.
