Benchmarks for TurboMemory are all over the place. I really can't make head or tail of Robson' benefit, if any.

Why would you disable it? I've had my t61 for 6 days now and I haven't seen it cause any problems.

I installed XP, so, so much for turbo memory so far. I just got it for whenever it's worth installing vista again

I had lots of problems with freezes using firefox on vista (T60P). I switched to XP and have had no problems since with firefox. I read somewhere that mozilla has not worked out all the bugs with vista compatibility.

Wow I am very surprise with the results so far.. I honest thought that a majority of people had their turbo memory disabled to cure some of the problems people had in this forums.

I'm surprised also, considering that it does nothing to speed up anything (assuming you've got sufficient for Vista amount of memory - at least 2GB)

Not as many people are having problems like you think they do. You just only see threads about the turbo memory when people are having problems, nobody posts about working turbo memory.

I had to uninstall it from the system. 30 min after fresh install and updated with Intel Turbo driver the system freezes and eventually BSOD. Same error as before , stop 0x00008086. I will try the next release driver but for now I need my laptop working so the INTEL Turbo chip is out.

That's not clear to me. Plus, there are some ways in which it can extend battery life. The jury is still out on TM for me.

I had to disable Turbo Memory because my T61 froze while on battery (not plugged in) every 20 minutes or so while it was enabled. I've been using it for a few hours since then, and no lockups have occurred yet... I'm just crossing my fingers that it stays that way.

Apart from that, the notebook is operating perfectly and I have no complaints.
