I had my hard drive fail and sent it back for replacement, but when it arrived back there was only one piece of packing in the box and the screen was broken. So I had to send it back for a new screen, which they replaced but 2 days later it was blank, no display. Sent it back again and this time when it came back the display didn't work at all right out of the box. So sent it back again, but by this time my warranty had expired. THey fixed it again, but 3 weeks later the display quit again so I called and told them I wanted a replacement laptop since it was the 4 time the display quit working all from their lack of shipping material, but they said that because it was out of warranty they couldn't do that. They asked if I wanted a service man to come out and look at it or I could send it to their engineering department to see why it kept failing. so I choose this option. 3 weeks later they still have my laptop and won't answer me as to when it will be done. I will never buy a lenovo again, I have 2 Dells and they work great, so if you ask me never buy a lenovo!!!!!!!!!!

Your hard drive failed so you shipped your laptop?

So far I've never had a bad experience sending a machine in to the Depot, but the last time I had to get my T60 a replacement fan, I took it to the local authorized service center instead. Gave them the case number created by Lenovo and they ordered the parts a few days before I went in. The turn around time was less than 2 hours after I dropped the laptop off. This is the best way to have warranty work done imo.

I'm in Chicago. Create a case first with Lenovo support. Then let the local authorized center order the parts against that before you take it in.

All the "Premium Partners" in my area had a pretty long turn-around time, so I just took it to one that wasn't. Service was great.

Yea the warranty had 3 weeks left and the microphone had quit and the volume buttons also stopped working so I figured why not let them fix everything before the warranty expired. The depot was fast but they couldn't fix it right, it was back to them 3 time for the LCD screen so the last time it went to IBM engineering department, btw the guy there Jamie is really rude, since he knows he has you over a barrel.

Or just do like I did and pay for on-site service. No shipment; they come to you :)
