Does anyone know which/any portable battery/power banks compatible with the Lenovo Y50. How long does it extend the battery life of the laptop? Also, on a side note, would opening up the Y50 and putting in a larger SSD void the Microsoft Conplete warranty I have? Thanks so much in advance.

Hi, welcome to the forum, I'm moving this to the IdeaPad subsection where you'll find more Y50 users and hopefully get a response here. Please wait 24 hours to bump a thread!

I've seen a video on youtube where this:

    Intocircuit® Power Castle

    Works with this:

Pwr+® Lenovo Tip Adapter Connector Converter

    For the original Yoga 13

I own both the Yoga 13, and the y50. The power connectors look the same. However, I am not 100% sure on compatibility and would like to know the answer myself as well. I would test it by swapping power adapters, but I'm afraid of frying one of my machines in the process.

The other issue for is is long term damage. Would the battery outputting 19v vs 20v on the adapter matter?

    Edit:

I might just pull the trigger on the combo. Since 19v works fine for the Yoga 13, the connectors are the same, and the only difference is amps (which just equates to different wattages overall). So technically, it should work. It might not charge as fast though. Not sure on the Amps out on the Power Castle.
