The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

I don't know why this has become so rampant of late, but it has come to my attention users are quoting entire posts when replying to another post. This would be an example:

This is completely unnecessary. This is particularly irritating when the user is quoting the post directly above their own or when replying to original topic. People are posting from ever smaller devices – phones, netbooks, PDAs, etc. When you do this, you're just creating more work the next reader who comes along. Show a little concern for your fellow posters

Quoting is in my opinion intended to be used when replying to a particular point from another post, in this case quote the part you wish to reply to, not the whole thing. Or when the post you're replying to is a number of posts back. Again, quote the part you wish to reply to, not the whole thing.

So far my list has only one rule, but if you think there's any other posting etiquette rules that should be added to the list, please feel free to send myself, or another Lenovo mod a PM, stating your rule and why it should be added.
