Couldn't find this question asked anywhere: Looks like all the new ThinkPads use the new slim rectangular plug. I have a number of previous gen. Thinkpads (T420, Edge E420, Twist) that use the round/yellow-tipped 65W/90W AC adapters. I would like to preserve my investment in the AC adapters around the house if I were to buy a new ThinkPad. The only thing I have found to do this is this. Does anyone have any experience with this product? Does anyone make a compatible tip without the cord I could just leave in the computer?

That's a pretty good option, and should work fine. Haven't seen any "non-corded" versions that are just the connector, probably because that would be pretty bulky, and you wouldn't be able to leave it plugged in anyway.

Thank you. Why couldn't it stay plugged in?

FYI, bought this one and it works great with my Yoga with both the 65W & 90W adapters.
MidnightSun likes this.
