Just wondering if anyone else has this problem or knows how to fix it.

I've recenting updated my power management, however this problem had persisted before that.

At this exact moment, my T500 is plugged in. and is on maximum setting. Yet my CPU is still being dropped down to 783Mhz as opposed to the standard 2.53Mhz. (My power is currently at 39% though I don't think it should matter).

So basically, somehow my CPU speed is being lowered even though the management settings has it so that it should remain at full power. I've tested this with the default "maximum performance" setting and my custom full power settings and yet it's still dropping it.

Not sure if anyone else has this problem or knows how to fix it.

If you revert back to the old powemanager does it fix the problem? Do you have any other power management software running (i.e. RMclock?)

id say its speedstep on the processor, it down clocks itself to save power and when its needed itll clock itself back up, but im not sure if this is it because 800mhz seems way too low.

try monitoring your speeds with cpu-z (free @ cpuid.com), you'll probably notice that when your CPU is in use the multiplier will jump up, and when its idle itll go down.

Well... not sure what this means... I've downloaded CPU-Z and according to the short tests I've run, it's spiking up to full speed for like 3 seconds then reverts to 1.5ghz (apparently 783mhz is just what is shown in the system properties)

This problem had occured before in the older versions of power management so shouldn't fix it if I revert.

EDIT: And I actually have a game open at the time of testing and it's choppy so the extra CPU power is definately needed, not sure why it isn't using it though.
