Even when the option "Show Power Manager Gauge in task bar" is selected, sometimes it doesn't appear.
This happens especially when I switch users (I have more than one user account in Vista).

To make it reappear, I have to restart my computer. :-/

Anyone knows how to solve this? Or, at least, when the gauge disappears, how can I make it reappear?

Maybe it would require restarting the process? You should see if you can find out what the meter process is called and find out if its crashing when it disappears. Task manager should suffice for finding that out.

I have the same problem, and that doesn't fix it. Any other suggestions?

I still have this problem after reinstalling drivers and software. The guage disappears every time I quit (don't laugh) Maple Story.

Still haven't reinstalled the drivers, but I was hoping that would solve the problem. :-(

I have had this problem for my T400. You can't switch hybrid graphics mode with out it!

    Run this command to relaunch:
    rundll32 "C:\Program Files\ThinkPad\Utilities\PWMTR32V.DLL,PwrMgrBkGndMonitor"

sorry to revive this old thread, but i have this problem too. the command to relaunch did not work, but this is not surprising; the file PWMTR32V.DLL doesn't even exist on my t400. also, i've uninstalled both thinkpad power management driver AND thinkpad power manager and reinstalled the latest versions of each. it still didn't fix the problem. the latest version is supposed to fix a problem where there is a long delay before the gauge shows up, but this doesn't sound like the same problem as mine. my gauge doesn't even show up at all!

Ditch the power manager gauge and use battery bar instead. Battery bar has better info on the usage. It also doesn't flash like the Power manager gauge. Keep power manager for the power profiles.

i'm not sure what you mean. we might be talking about different power manage gauges. my power manager gauge is just a simple green bar that doesn't flash at all. i also don't see anything to do with profiles. this is lenovo's own power manager we're talking about; not window xp's built in powr manager. i've heard that it's more accurate than windows own battery gauge. i would like to bring it back.

Yes, that's the one. The thinkpad power manager always refreshes, it look like it's flashing. The items next to gauge shifts left and right. It's so distracting!!

are you using windows vista by any chance? i'm using windows xp and the battery gauge doesn't flash at all. i imagine it must be quite annoying if it flashes that much!
