Alright this seems to be an uncommon error in the Windows 7 era.

I've recently been getting "Power Surge on Hub Port" error notification bubbles on my Y480. I haven't had anything connected via USB, and the only thing I can think of that would cause it is the Bluetooth adapter. I've tried re-installing the Bluetooth drivers but the issue persists. Any ideas?

Could also possibly be the webcam if that model has one.

I got a couple responses on the Lenovo forums.

    Also...

There are 2 x Intel 7 Series USB Controllers: 1E26, and 1E2D; plus an Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller.

1E26 only enabled - No response from any port.
1E2D only enabled - Response only from USB 2.0 port near AC jack
eXtensible only enabled - No response from any port.

All enabled - Response from USB 2.0 port near AC Jack,
USB 3.0 on left side towards the back, but get an error saying "Device can perform faster if plugged into a USB 3 port. Only works sometimes. Resetting the hub sometimes allows it to be detected.

Test device was a WD My Passport SE USB 3.0 drive. I don't have any low-power devices handy at the moment.

This is running the Lenovo Preloaded Win 7 x64. BIOS is current as when I received the computer I downloaded all new drivers from Lenovo site. I'll attempt the reset next. I'd rather not do a factory OneKey reset just yet. That's my second-to-last resort.

I'd like to mention that I get the Power Surge error even without any device plugged in. Also, Bluetooth is turned off and the webcam is disabled both with the Hotkey and in Device Manager.

If I turn off "Intel USB 3.0 Root Hub" the error messages stop.
