    Hi there,

I have a problem with the Power Manager thresholds when charging my T61 (Vista Ultimate).

I set the power manager thresholds to start charging at 40% and stop at 100%. My problem is that the batter never charges back to 100%. Explanation: when I use the laptop unplugged, the battery will eventually drain down to less than 40%. I then plug the computer back in (either while using it or after turning it off) and power manager tells me that it's charging. The problem is that the charge stops well before the battery gets back to 100% (with the computer plugged in all the time, of course). For instance, the battery charge is at 35%, I plug the computer in, turn it off, leave it plugged in over night, and in the morning the charge is at 45% (usually around 45% but it varies) and power manager says that it's not charging. If I understand PM well (I did my research on this forum), it should be back at 100%.

I reinstalled the PM software already, but I get the same behavior.

Anybody has any idea about what's happening and how I can have the battery charge back to 100%? (Right now I have to go in the threshold window and say "charge fully" then go back again when it's fully charged and set the lower threshold to 40% again).

    thanks!

Is it possible that your outlet may have stopped charging for a moment which will cause the computer to be "unplugged" for a moment? This would in theory replug the AC back in when the battery charge is between 40% and a 100%, which means that it will not charge since it can only start charging when it is under 40%.

mmm... I guess it's possible. I live in an old building with a big fridge, and I noticed that the lights flicker for a split second when the fridge starts a cooling cycle. I'll try to remember that and check it out in another more recent building. Thanks Arkit3kt!
