When i click the ThinkVantage button, there's is a line of text missing. It's the line of text right above the "Power On Bluetooth Radio." It should read "Power On Wireless Radio."

It just happened today. When i started up my notebook this afternoon, my wireless wasnt working. I did a diagnosis and it said my wireless wasnt powered on, so i clicked "power on" and it did nothing. So i ran another diagnosis through windows, which eventually fixed my wireless connection and it's working now. But, the line of text in thinkvantage is GONE! Any ideas on how to remedy this problem?

It just happened to me again after i rebooted my notebook. I had to do another windows diagnosis, which stated i was not connected to windows wireless service.

Does anyone know where Windows Wireless Service is located? The line of text is still missing from ThinkVantage.

Are you referring to the "Power On/Off Wireless Radio?" It's there too, but i also had it in my quick links right above the resource center. The bullet-point is still there, but the text has mysteriously disappeared.

I've went to Customize at the bottom of the ThinkVantage Window to check if "Power On/Off Wireless Radio" was checked, and it is.

If worst comes to worst, i'll end up doing another reformat.

EDIT:I've checked online and WLAN AutoConfig is set as manual as the default. I played around with the services, but ended up restoring everything to default according to blackviper and another webpage i found online. Can you tell me what you have WLAN AutoConfig set at?

I'm thinking there's something wrong with my Wireless On/Off Switch.

I guess this thread has just been a general thought process for me. So i've checked everything. I even went into the BIOS to check to the network status and everything is enabled. The wireless button in the BIOS has been, and is set to on. The switch on the front of my notebook is set to on.

It keeps on taking me back to the ThinkVantage Access Connections window stating "The Wireless radio is powered off. Do you want to power it on?" I click yes and nothing happens. If i go to Wireless Networking, then Power On/Off Wireless Radio, and then click "power on" for the wireless radio, nothing happens and it stays off. Any ideas?

Well, it turns out that i accidentally set WLAN AutoConfig service to manual instead of Automatic. MAN! I was playing around with the services and decided to go back to the default services. I copied exactly what was posted as the default settings on the black viper webpage for Vista Premium. Lenovo must have set WLAN AutoConfig to automatic.

I made another thread asking form someone to please post up a screenshot of lenovo's default services settings here, so if anyone would be so kind, i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

if the wireless light is on and working it should show up. press fn + f5 your wireless radio should be on. then press the thinkvantage button and see if it is on the list if not reinstall the thinkvantage software only as it might be corrupt.
