    Pretty Fast Shipping Time

    Wanted to share my data point.
    Ordered a T420s on Wednesday 11/23 at 3pm EST
    Got a shipment notice on Saturday morning from Shanghai.
    I awoke this morning (Sunday) to find it is 300 miles from my home at the UPS center in Louisville, KY.

    I am impressed. Original ship estimate was for 12/15

    Mine shipped out of Shanghai, took exactly 1 week, just the standard shipping process....I didn't pay anything extra for quick shipping or anything...

    Yeah, I got my T410 last year within a week or so. They always seem to give you an estimated shipping date that's later than usual. Also, it depends on how long it takes for the shipment to pass customs but I'd expect about a week between the time you order and when you actually receive it. Congrats on your new purchase.

    It maybe better to contact UPS as well about the shipping.

    I believe order shipping time depends on the configuration (i.e. availability of components), for example last week Lenovo (as the rep told me) had shortage of HDD and specific i7 processor which makes the shipping time longer.

    In my case, I ordered W520 on November 17 from Lenovo Canada, at first it was scheduled to be shipped on 24th, but then they updated the status to be shipped on 28th, but again it was not shipped and I ended up cancelling my W520 order.

    Ordered mine two days ago and it has an estimated shipping date of 12/7/11. I've got my fingers crossed that it ships at least by Monday!

    Well the order is back in KY now. Contacted Lenovo and they said that they didn't know why the shipment was sent to AK and back but that the shipment is waiting to be cleared with customs. Hopefully it clears relatively fast.

    Well, I think that you can be pretty sure that the custom configs are built in China. Mine was.

    It went from China > Japan > Kentucky > Connnecticut. Got it in 12 days (including two weekends).

    My daughter's IdeaPad went from China > Alaska > Connecticut. It arrived even quicker.

    Nobody's ordering their ThinkPads from China (unless they live in China) - all ThinkPads from Edge to X-series come from a factory in China regardless of where you buy it.
