So I was checking out the T420 a few days ago and it was $800. Now I check and it's $680: Laptop computers - ThinkPad T420
Throw an i5-2450M in there and add a 900p display and you have got a killer laptop at just under $770.
Now, I am wondering, is the T420 worth purchasing right now, compared to the $900 (starting price) T430 that is coming out in a few months? Only problems I see with the T430 is the increased price and lack of removable battery.
Also, what battery life can I expect to get out of the T420 with the 6-cell battery, typing in a word document at 25% brightness with wi-fi on, and maybe browsing some web pages here and there? What about with the 9-cell?
Also, anyone have any pictures of how the 9-cell looks? I want to see how much it sticks out.

Oh, and...
Though the T430's battery is indeed removable (it's the T430u that's sealed up), the keyboard, from what we can currently tell, is one almost straight from a ThinkPad Edge (i.e. chiclet, but backlit). All their models are going that way, if the information we have is correct. So if you want a guarantee on the old-style keyboard the T420's the one to buy.
You could always slot an SSD in later; that will help with both lower power consumption and speed (Ivy's not that much faster than Sandy).
