I bought a T420 recently, the black friday deal was about $100 less than what I paid. I saved that deal as a quote. Did I need to contact Lenovo about the price protection policy when that black friday coupon was still valid or since I have a saved quote, will that work?

How long ago is recently?

I believe you have 28 days for a price match. The specs of the quoted machine must be exactly the same as yours.

I bought mine on Nov 16 (for what I thought was a decent price). You do need to match your configuration exactly. It works off the new quote. Not off anything else (like the item being in your cart).
The BlackFriday deal gave me a good discount and I put in a price match request. Then the CyberMonday one was even better -- it was actually $350 less than what I paid. I managed to get Lenovo Sales to act on this one and have received that refund. -
I bought it on Nov 16th, received on Nov 28th. The question is, will the quote I created on Nov 25th be applicable if I call up today. I thought I read something about quotes only being valid if purchased when any coupon codes in that quote were still active.

a quote is a quote regardless of coupons. as long as your quote matches 100% to the config you purchased then sales will match it.

Definitely call today. Be sure to have the order number and quote number ready.
I just called this morning and got them to give me a refund of $115 for a quote that I found a few days after I placed my order.
