I'm considering selling my T410 after all. I applied some thermal paste awhile back and it's working fine. The only problem is the windows sticker has pretty much rubbed off and I'll have to see if Lenovo will be willing to send me a new one.
Also I would have to reconnect the speaker assembly since I've removed it. Other than that, the system is in perfect working order, not one single issue. Specs are as follows:

    Core i5-540 2.53GHz processor,
    4GB DDR3 RAM,
    Intel integrated graphics,
250GB 5400 RPM Western Digital HDD,
Bluetooth and Intel 6200 wireless card,
    14" 1280x800 res monitor
NO camera, fingerprint reader or smart card reader (but there is an SD card slot of course)

I still have the box and everything, but I don't have the recovery discs any longer (I tossed them after switching to linux full time ).

I payed $885.51 plus tax when I bought it, and I was thinking of asking $500 shipped. What do you guys think? I asked here in the Lenovo forum since so many here are so knowlegeable about thinkpads, hope the mods don't mind. :)

Oh and I ordered it on 4/2/2010 from Lenovo, and it was shipped on 4/7/2010. I think I recieved it 3 days later if memory serves correctly.

    500 dollars sound reasonable.

Here in UK 500 dollars seems to be bloody good price. On the other hand you won't get any T410 for less than around £580.

Always cheaper in US you lucky people!

Roger, what are you buying after that T410? Why are you selling it? Is it that bad?

I have re-applied thermal paste few times, even changed heatsink and I still getting big difference in cores temperatures. Overall, temps are ok, (idling in 40 degrees average) but 10 degrees between 2 cores (35, 44 for instance).

T410 is a great machine but has some flaws. Fan issue isn't that annoying at all.

I posted a thread in OT about it. I'm just getting sick of laptops, I'm thinking about going back to desktops for awhile.
The fan noise is very annoying to me, but other than that it is a fine machine. I just want the flexibility of having a desktop again, and one that has all the features that I really want.

having desktop is very tempting, they are cheaper with better hardware, more flexible to upgrade etc but then your mobility is crashed.

When moving a lot, traveling a lot, it's not an option unfortunately.

I run my T410 as desktop replacement, with dock, and EIZO display for photo editing. It's good as I am still able to undock my PC and go with it where ever I want. There is still plenty horse power under the T410 hood which is sufficent for 99% tasks I do.

I hear you about fan noise, the only real drawback of this laptop.
That and flexing left side of the screen, as mentioned in NBR review :D
Other than that damn good looking machine!

Well, mine stays on my desk 100% of the time so not an issue for me. :) But if I were mobile, yes, it would be a necessity.
