The Z61m is gone. Have they been discontinued?

I suppose. There was a thread about the Z series being discontinued not too long ago.

I ordered a T60 when the starting prices were (seemingly) cheaper last week. I say seemingly because i just configured one and the final price is the exact same. It appears that instead of asking you to pay $49 for the Vista Home Premium upgrade, they've tacked that onto the price shown on the product page and allowed you to subtract $49 for XP Home, making Vista Home Premium the standard configuration. I can only vouch for this for the T60 widescreen; I didn't look at the other models at all.

The m series is still available. I went thru the Government Employee site and entered the 9450D6U configuration and it shows that it has a 20 day availability.
Maybe they have a shortage of parts again but decided not show them at their website so not to repeat the fiasco of this last Christmas.

Actually today if you configure T60 with x1400 128MB you get additional $50 off. If you have already configured and ordered your T60, you should configure the same, take a screenshot and when you receive the order call back IBM and ask them for price reduction (thats what the customer rep told me to do).
