There is a new coupon that stacks with CPP, 6% for me, USESAVETHINK. Does Lenovo honor price protection with this? This could save me approximately 60-70$, depending on tax.

AFAIK coupons are not included in the price protection, but I could be wrong.

Lenovo offers a 21 day price protection and it includes coupons. I completed the following process and I am expecting a difference of approximately $100.
First, build the exact same computer you purchased - every component, warranty and accessory must be the same.
Next, apply the coupon, input address and continue to the order page where you enter in the credit card information. However, without entering this information, scroll down to the bottom of the page where you have the option to order, change order or convert to quote. Choose the third option and you'll receive an order number.
Finally, call the customer service number and ask for a price match. The Lenovo rep will ask for your original order number and the new order (quote) number. After the rep confirms that the orders are identical, except for the price of course, he/she will forward the price match request to a supervisor who is supposed to call within two business days and refund within eight to nine business days. -
If I want to use the quote with the coupon that expired, will they honour this quote with the lower price or will they have to separately credit you the difference with the newer quote price?
-
If you have a quote you created using a coupon that has since expired, you can place an order directly using that quote. You can't change a single thing though. Either click through the link in the quote or call Sales. -
Luckily you answered exactly what I was trying to ask. Basically is the quoted price still valid after the ecoupon expires and is it still possible to place an order with that quote and price.
Regarding the link in the quote, I can't seem to find it in the email.
Thanks for your help. -
What happens if they remove an option, and it is no longer avaiable, or add on free upgrades? So, if there's a "get more SSD for $0 (on the X301 currently), or remove the choice to have a Ultranav without Fingerprint reader (T400s)? Will they still honor the match? What about if the new machine is strictly better, but still has a lower price?
-
XLiquidIceX: they may have changed something since the last time I did a quote (months ago). Sorry for the misdirection on the link.
pem69: Best to call and ask. My guess is if you can't build the exact same spec you're SOL. All it takes to find out is a phone call though. -
Lew you're right - I would have asked, but they were closed, so I figured someone here might know better. I just checked, and they said if the option was no longer available, that you just have to take the next closest choice. The example given was if they drop the smallest processor, but he said it should still work if the system is better.

Update: I contacted Lenovo on Monday morning, received an email about the refund on Thursday and received a refund on my credit card on Friday. Fewer days than estimated (8-9 business days).
Price protection?
