I have a T400 (Intel T9400, 3GB ram, vista) and I am experiencing a problem right now.
About an hour ago, after I got back to my laptop I saw that it is completely freezed(nothing except mouse worked).
I shut the computer down by holding the shutdown button and from that time whenever I try to boot up vista it takes about 30 minutes to boot up.
I booted up ubuntu using live disk and I think it was little bit(not too much) slower than usual.
Do you think I have a hardware or software problem and if I do which part do you think have been damaged from the shutdown?
Thanks.

I don't think you will have damaged any hardware with a force shutdown; I've done it on my laptop many times, and have never had any problems.
It's most likely a software problem within Windows, it could be the result of a virus or oher malware. Do you have any antivirus installed onyour computer? -
I have done it many many times too and I never had any problems.
I have kaspersky AV installed on my computer and I am pretty sure it is not a virus since I have not downloaded anything and I haven't done anything that might cause this.
