    Problem with Y400 audio driver for Vista

    I have Lenovo Y400 9454-32a. I am waiting for months with patient until they release audio driver for Vista, but when it finally arrived (16 April 07) it failed to install. It is located at their driver's page.

    And after they replace the driver it can install smoothly. BUT, when i check the volume control at the taskbar it is red-crossed and shown "No Audio Output Device Installed". There is no sound at all.

    I think someone in the Lenovo engineer dept deserve strong warning letter. They come in different department than the one which usually deal with thinkpad.

    Service center in my town is located differently than service center for thinkpad. I am reluctant to bring the laptop there because i am still using it and the laptop is actually pretty usable (and fast too)- just silent.

    Below is the conversation history with them. The problem they mentioned here is the original one. Now the driver can install smoothly but there is no sound still (this is already explained to them). :

    have following drivers for Vista :
    a. ADI UAA Audio Driver
    b. Widcomm Bluetooth

    Those drivers produce error when installed in Lenovo Y400 (945432a), Windows
    Vista Home Premium.

    ADI Audio driver reject to install with the following message :
    "Driver ini tidak mendukung driver" means "This driver does not support Driver"
    What does it mean?

    Widcomm bluetooth driver produce error when expanding the installer package :
    "error executing the specified program
    C:\user\username\appdata\local\temp\pft5748.tmp\setup.exe"

    Please resolve those issues immediately.
