    hi there

    i have lenovo n500

    i have just bought it

    when i try to setup windows xp on it an error occurred

    before i go to the choices in system setup an error message saying

    partition table error

    how to fix this please help

    This is most likely because you have a SATA hard drive. XP lacks support for these natively.

    The easiest method is to enter the BIOS and set AHCI to Compatibility mode. This will let you install. Then install the SMBus controller to get this to work.

    Alternatively, you can slipstream the SMBus driver and SP3 into your XP disc using nLite.
