How long it takes to process credit card? as they processing it for 1 week mine.. i guess

I made an order on 9 october.

I have a debit card from http://www.westonebank.com/ and used it as payment.

In couple of days later i get an email from credit card service of lenovo where they ask me phone number of my bank!!!.. that one that begins with 800.. oh great.. there was a phone number too, where i supposed to call and tell this, ok.. all day friday i tried to reach someone there... but nothing... ok, i left a message. no results.. on monday i called +18664284465 and they made a request for me, as my message wasn't clear enough.(but no email from they!!!)

i called yesterday to find out if any updates, nothing...

today i called again, they didn't receive any updates from credit card service for monday, may be on monday my request was taken at the end of business day, but i have called at 11:00 AM i think..., also he told me that yesterday when i called, they made a request again.. and this one could take from 24-48... very nice.. every time i will call they will make a new request?

conclusion 2 requests.., i asked what about 1st request? answer was that they didn't receive any updates from them for Monday.

so i must call them tomorrow.. i'm really disappointed.. because i'm a student and need laptop asap... :(

i don't know maybe i should wait couple of days.. but it is normal to take so much time to process a credit card? and it is my concern to provide them that number? for me it is very strange.

if tomorrow is not solved problem where should i call or send an email? as they don't hurry to solve it.. oh by the way that operator told me that they have only email as communication with credit card service... very nice.

so, now status is in process, but i don't think this is much of help.. as i've read that some already received laptop & status was still in process.

any suggestions ? thank you in advance

ps: sorry for my english, hope i have explained clear enough.

Unfortunately the status will stay "in process" until it ships :( Lenovo doesn't update the status the way Dell or others do.

Did they say why they needed the number of your bank?

Also why would they ask for the 800 number of your bank yet only be able to reply in emails?

Let me ask... Is your shipping address for the laptop different then your billing address for your westone bank card, if it is, that is most likely your problem.

If you know the problem try calling your bank and fixing it that way, that is what I would do.

Really sounds like you are in a sticky situation but from what I read on these messages boards.. when someone has a problem with lenovo billing services, the biggest hurdle in trying to fix the problem is getting someone on the phone at lenovo. Usually after that, things smooth out... for you, that doesn't seem the case.

For some reason lenovo is making requests to your bank and it doesn't sound like you bank is complying. Call the bank and ask what is going on?

I had the same problem, but I never got it settled it is mostly a problem with the credit card or what not. Try calling the Credit card service and ask them. Sometimes its also the address as well.

Is your debit card backed by MasterCard or Visa? If not, they might have a problem running your card through the debit network (cirrus, star, plus, etc...). Either that or your bank is small and doesn't subscribe to some network. As said above, call your bank just so you know and can explain the issue when you get through to billing. Be persistent until you can actually get someone to tell you what the problem is and deal with it.

I don't know if it's true, but I wouldn't believe the person who said they only communicate through email.

I am a Finance Manager. I have worked for Bank One & Bank America! It's your Card. If it's a Visa Debit Card, you either don't have enough money in the bank or you don't have enough money in the bank!!

Regular CC: Visa or Mastercard or Amex! You don't have enough money on the card.

Once the representive or online takes your Card #, Expiration Date, the transactions is approved from a instant confirmation based on the amount.

It does not take all week, a day or an hour! You would have been told right then if your card was approved!

    I am not a finance manager .
If you have a "ship to" address that is different than the billing address you will have to call your bank and add the alternate shipping address.
Then call back the # for cc services and unbelievable as it seems, they are experiencing heavy traffic so you will leave the info on the 800# for them.
You will hear nothing back so you will call back and ask them to contact you.
You wont hear back again so you will call and ask them to contact you immediatley.
You wont hear back again then you will give up and your laptop will either ship or be delivered within 24 hours of giving up.
These are the twelve steps of grief you must be willing to undergo when you order from Lenovo.

hi, thank you for your replies.

It is a debit card, mastercard. there are about 1630$, the price of laptop + taxes are 1578$, but where 1503$ (i made some small changes), so there are enough money i think.

they asked me # 800, that they could check my credit card (i was suprised), i don't have their email, the operator said that THEY can send them only emails :)

and yes, billing info == with shipping info

i could not reach any cc service... just getting to send a message.

may be i should change the payment method? for wired transfer for example.

also, today when i made some changes in order, i spoke with a man from orders, i think he is not just an operator, and i told him all history, he said will send me an email with his contact info, so i could reach him directly, hope will solve my issue. he was very surprised when he saw that the order was made on 9th oct...

by the way, after these changes my esd was changed too, but operator said it won't change.. now it is 20 nov :(.. hope it won't take so long.

Yeah, I just had my run-ins with Lenovo Credit Card Services after ordering an X61 on 10/4. If your experience is like mine, you will never be able to reach them -- but your laptop will still arrive fairly quickly. I posted to this forum on the morning of 10/11 with a similar tale worrying about not getting my system and not an hour after I hit the "Post" button, the UPS guy shows up with the machine.

After days of not being able to reach LCCS after they sent their e-mail, one thing I did was call the general 1-866-96-THINK number, where I talked to a guy who said he would clear things up. Incidentally, LCCS has FINALLY begun responding to my e-mails and phone messages in the past 2-3 days -- long after I've received my system.

Lenovo mistakingly sent me an extra 8-cell battery, so I guess their incompetence in transactional matters can work both ways. :)

    Oct,

Regardless of Ship-to / Billing address issues, you would have been told that there is a problem right then on the phone when you placed your order!

Then Calling or going on-line, you would have seen the Charge to your card.

That would have been one of your receipts for payment Authorized/Received via your bank!

What were your told when the operator/agent checked your card for approval?

    Sircas,

the problem was that they didn't have phone number of my bank(that with 800), perhaps it is a small one, but it is the only option that i have. So i called them on monday, operator/agent told me that he made a request to cc service of Lenovo with that phone number that they wanted.

Since Monday every day calling there, no one could tell my WHY my cc is on hold, every one is telling me they will send a message to cc service & this may take 24-48hours... this is madness, if no new info tomorrow will cancel the order... i'm considering D830... no matter how much i wanted t61... f* them.. as i'm tired to explain to everyone from support my story...

Call Customer Service and get a manager! State that "You only want to talk with a manager" Also call your Bank & verify if Transaction has occurred or been completed!

Also if you cancel there are great Off-the-Shelf machines at various Computer Retailers: Costco, Circuit City, Micro Center & others.!

My corporation uses Dell D620s. They are great machines, but you will like the IBM better!

Hi and thank you for your replies.

Ok, finally i've got an email from cc service, i haven't provided correct billing address as on my card + there is a purchase limit for 500$.

Strange if they are telling me about this limit, than that small issue with address is not such a big problem(instead of "1000 N 4TH ST" i wrote "1000 4th N STREET"), anyway i'm glad that i have at least some info... I appreciate your posts, thank you.

It is my fault i guess, but they could figure out this earlier....
