When you do a recovery from a cd you can't customize it. You can only do so from the recovery partition.

what I am saying is that after you do a CD recovery, you can go ahead and use the recovery partition to do a custom recovery.

Well after I used the recovery cd's I later tried to use base software administrator to customize my partition. When I did the factory restore it failed though and ended up corrupting the hard drive. Makes me wonder if the hidden partition is replaced properly or not after the recovery cd's are used.

Although here's a question, can I used the recovery CD's and custom choose not to add some programs from there? (i.e. symantec?)
