Recently I have been having problems with going into a standby mode. My notebook is not able to go into standby mode. It gives an error message saying that:
The Device driver for the 'Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet- Deterministic Network Enhancer Miniport' device is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please update driver and try again.
I have updated the Broadcom ethernet card driver and it still gives the same error message. Current driver version is 9.81.0.0 (released 8/28/2006).
This is very disconcerting. Please help.
Thanks in advance.

DNE is used by VPNs like netscreen remote. I remember seeing this on my work PC but I can't remember what resolved it. Assuming you are using a VPN, do you have the latest software for that?

I am not using VPN now. I used to use it awhile ago.

uncheck "let this device bring computer out of standby" from device manager of the hardware driver

It has been unchecked all along. Any ideas?
Thanks!
