    Anyone knows why system update say me: unable to connect to proxy server?? The firewall is ok (permits access to internet) and i have internet conection. Please help me.

    Try disabling your firewall and see if it allows you to obtain access.

    Either that or your system is infected and it's preventing you to connect

    This was happening to me as well for my Lenovo 3000 Y410. The culprit was a popup blocker which came with my software called AdSubtract PRO. I tried right clicking on it in the system tray and temporarily disabling it, and this seemed to fix the problem so that I could finally get System Update to run.
