I just got a used T41 notebook and I am noticing some problems with it that I'm wondering if I could fix myself.

First, on the bottom right of the keyboard, the arrow keys seems to curve up very slightly. When I press on the arrows, there is flexing of the keyboard... the keyboard goes down and when it comes out makes a louder-than-usual noise like it's banging against the case itself. Is this normal? What could be wrong with it? How can I fix it myself?

And also, the Active Hard Drive protection seems to be way too sensitive. Before I reinstalled windows and manually installed the drivers and software, the configuration tool for this had very few options. I think I downloaded the newer configuration tool (ThinkVantage vs Access IBM ?). Is it because the newer configuration tool is not compatible with this? The older one has no sensitivity setting but this one does, but still under the lowest sensitivity, it seems to be way too sensitive.

My T41 creeks in the corners, but I never noticed that the arrow keys curve up--perhaps just due lack of attention on my part.

And the Active Protection also was way too sensitive. I turned off the notification, and let it do its thing without telling me.

Isn't being too senstive a bad thing? Would it mess up the hard drive it it gets turned on and off that much?
