    Processors upgradeable on the G550?

    Hi, does anyone know if the processors are user upgradeable on the G450/550? :)

    Don't know for certain, but I see no reason why they wouldn't be - the processors are not soldered to the motherboard. I would expect that a processor upgrade would void the warranty, but as Lenovo does not seem to use warranty void stickers, replacing the original part would probably work.

    I figured this much but wanted to know for sure. Newegg has got one with a pentium dual core processor, for super cheap. Might be a cool project pc. :D

    desktops are used for "project pc's" but if you insist, ya, why not! Do you currently have a celeron or something? (penitum dual core is also bottom line)
    May i suggest getting a SSD?

    I've built computers since 1998. I'm tired of desktops (still :p). ;) The pentium dual core version is perfect cause the system is cheap. :cool:
