    I was looking to get a T61 but decided to go with a T400 because the price was similar...I think I will love it, I am coming from a 2 yr old Sony Vaio (which I love) and I know the T400 build quality will be much better. The only issues that seem to be going on are the keyboard flex, which I think people are making too big of a deal about. My Sony doesn't seem to flex at all and, like I said, I know the Lenovo will be better.

    I am dismayed at the ship date of 9/23...wanted to get this fairly soon but I guess I will have to wait. How accurate are those ship dates?

    Mine was supposed to ship from China on 9/11. It arrived at my door last night though. They are pretty quick lately.

    It seems they're mostly slow with the 9 cell orders. I ordered mine on August 31 (Sunday) and it arrived 9/5 (Friday) with the 6 cell.

    I'm loving it though, great machine and while not without its quirks (every laptop has them, even Thinkpads) I don't think it's a shame to call it a Thinkpad next to my X31 or T43p.

    Hey guys, just wondering, when/where does it say the approx. shipping/arrival date? I just ordered one as well a few days ago and I have received 2-3 emails confirmation the order, but I have not received anything stating the shipping dates.

    If you ordering from Canada you don't really have an easy access to an estimate date. You'll have to call them and it's not really that accurate... so don't hold your breath.

    I ordered my T400 on 8/29 and received the morning of 9/3. The estimated ship date was 9/12. I couldn't be more happy with their free 2nd day shipping, not to mention the build time.

    Hopefully it works out because I am in fact ordering from Canada. I've read all the stories and everything but I decided I can wait that long without much of an issue. I'm a student, so I would prefer a laptop ASAP but I felt the T400 was worth the wait.

    Same for me! I'm waiting for a friend of mine who work for IBM to know what deal he can offer me.. but I'll order it at max this weekend!
