I purchased a Lenovo 3000 N100 with the Core 2 processor, 120 meg. HD, 1 gb memory, 15" screen. A few good/bad comments on the unit

    Good
    • Very snappy performance
    • Quite - both fan and hard disk noise
    • Light weight
    • Good battery life, about 2 - 2 1/2 hours with full screen brightness and wireless.
    • Keyboard - responsive.
    • Screen - Clear screen, but not as bright as Toshiba.

    Bad
    • Speakers are horrible! You can play music/watch a DVD, but not a fun experience!
    • 3 of the USB ports are on right front of the machine. This is not fun for right handed users. My HP has only 1 on the right, 2 on the left, and one on the back!
    • Keyboard - The Control key should be placed in the bottom left, but Lenovo placed the FN key there! Also, the placement of the arrow and Page Up/Down keys is problematic!

For the price I paid, the Lenovo 3000 N100 is power packed vs. other units in the same PRICE range. I think that this unit is geared for business users vs. home/casual users. If you want multimedia, then look elsewhere!

    120GB?

I'm sorry, but, that's good? I was of the opinion 4+ hours is good, and anything less than 3 is bad...

I couldn't agree more. They do this on all of their notebooks I think...

Well, it depends on the battery; and it's not too bad with a 15" screen at full brightness and wireless on, which are both huge power-drainers. Nearly everyone exaggerates the battery life they get, so i always take people's numbers with a grain of salt. If that's an extended battery, though, that would not be so good.

I guess that is typical battery life with a larger screen and all the whistles. Seems like a good machine.

That sounds about right for battery. I also have this one.. 15.4 widescreen and go about 2.5 hours average with full brightness and wireless/BT on. Then again this is with the standard 6 cell battery and the 128MB nVIDIA GeForce FX Go7300 video.

    Corrections:

The batt. life I listed was wrong, it is 2.5-3.25 hours with the screen at full brightness.

    The HD is 120 GB.

ya me also got mine 10 days ago and i couldn't agree more with the good and bad points u mentioned

    mine is
    18.3 CD
    512MB DDR2-667
    80GB hard
    Wireless and Bluetooth

although i wished for one more thing, two separate buttonf for bluetooth and wireless
i hate that i need to turn bluetooth on while using wireless connection all the time
it could have saved lots of battery time

You can't turn the bluetooth off in the wireless program (fn-F5 on my computer) and use the switch to only control the wireless? Also, access connections has an option in the preferences to automatically disable bluetooth on certain wireless profiles, if that would help.
If all else fails, can't you disable the bluetooth controller in the device manager? Does the switch override all those other things? I don't have the switch on my t43, so I can't test it.
