    Purchasing recovery CDs as a way of installing new OS?

    Can you purchase recovery CDs for an OS different than the one preinstalled on your system and get it to work? Do you need XP keys?

    My plan is to change the preinstalled vista business on my X60 tablet to Xp Tablet PC Edition by simply using Recovery CDs. I would buy these:



    Would it work?

    Asked this in my longer thread about how the tablet bricked less than one half hour after opening the package but I'd figure I'd ask it more directly.

    I remember hearing that Vista business lets you downgrade to XP pro, not sure how much of a hassle it is though.
