So, now the estimated ship date is July, 1,2007. Have not received a confirmation email yet. They did put a hold on my CC immediately. BTW, this is "Quote, that I converted to an order". Which me luck. I hope they ship next week sometime.. If Lenovo keep following the trend. :D  :spinny:

Aspekt9, maybe both of us will be lucky and they will ship next week. Of course I have not seen any 15.4 inch ship yet. I would prefer that size, but just went on and got the 14.1' ws

Are you guys ordering 2x? What would you do if both laptops ship out? Would you return one of them?

If this is the case, then what you are doing will only slow down the whole shipping process for all of us.

I had an order placed 5/20 that they somehow canceled on June 11th without my consent or knowledge. I found out when I went to check my order status and saw an error. I emailed Tim Supples to figure out what the heck happened. He got me in contact with a shift supervisor and an "inside sales specialist," who helped me place a new order. He promised to get it onto the "critical list." Lets see if that makes a difference. The order was placed 6/14 also, however, my config is different, as shown below. The ESD is 7/3.

    I ordered a T61 on June 17 and got 7/20 ship date.
Q: I only was able to order the INTEL GMA960W/WWAN,W/AM as the graphics card, there was no other configuration option. I sent an e-mail to the sales rep on wed.6/20 w/ questions about graphics card options but he has not responded as of today. Anybody have any info about what would be the optimum(able to handle multi-media and games) g-card for this system, and what would be the best way to make a change if necessary while my order is under process?
    thx

The 15.4" t61 only comes with the intel gma card, there is no other option. The only way you can get an nvidia card in a t61 is to get the 14.1".

No silly it's the APPLE version. It's really spelled iNvidia. You didn't think apple would sell something that doesn't have an i infront did you?!?! His post is obviously in the wrong forum, it should be moved to the apple forum.

    Who cares?

An evangalist and a consultant, and all you can do is correct spelling? I thought with titles like that you'd be the smart guys.

Maybe you should be on the spelling bee forum.

Oh forgive me my liege! I will go throw myself upon thine sword.

I are smart guy I be serious now.

You want to know the performance difference between the NVS 140M and X3100 correct? A search will go a long way in achieving that end. I suggest you start with "x3100 vs. nvs 140M" or something along those lines. On one of the forums there is a GPU thread that answers all questions about notebook GPUs, such as the one you just asked.

And just to let you know for the future, these are the two reasons why you didn't the response you were looking for:

    1. You showed too much hubris. Have some humility and be able to joke. We're not all robots and you should have taken Tholek's response for what it was: a playful jest. A better response would have been:

"It's spelled Nvidia? lol.I don't know anything about the differences, can someone point me in the right direction?"

    2. You haven't bothered doing doing a search. Even I'm guilty of it but don't be surprised if your question doesn't get answered because it has been asked a million times in every forum and no one wants to keep repeating themsevles.

You're presumptious. I'm not emotionally involved. No Hubris.

I think that you may be proud of your knowledge, what did you invent that made you rich?

You used a greek term, so I suppose you'll understand another. For me it's just about the Politicks.

I'm busy, I placed my order in 15 minutes.

I did a search prior. you were just one part of that process.

2+2=4 has been said more than a million times and will be said many millions more. Thats how we learn.

I guess if you had something better to do you wouldn't spend so much time on forums. TVM.

Sorry I intruded. really & thx for response.

You really need to lighten up man. You talk like you have a stick up your $%^&. If you're too arrogant to take it, then fine. I'll just pick apart your post instead:

"I think that you may be proud of your knowledge, what did you invent that made you rich?"

I didn't invent anything that made me rich. I suppose you did?

"You're presumptious. I'm not emotionally involved. No Hubris."

Are you kidding me? You're like the most arrogant person I've met on the net in years. Your impatience and emotion comes out in all of your posts. If you were truly logical and uninvolved you would have moved on and not posted again.

"2+2=4 has been said more than a million times and will be said many millions more. Thats how we learn."

That's what they invented FAQs and Stickies for. Everyone learns the hard way, true, but just take it with some humility.

"I guess if you had something better to do you wouldn't spend so much time on forums. TVM."

You're right I spend a lot of time on here. I'm not busy and I don't have a lot to do. When I'm not flaming people like you, I'm helping others or being helped. Does that make you better than me?

"Sorry I intruded. really & thx for response.'

No you're not, but You're Welcome anyway. Don't judge this board based on the responses of a few. Some people are of the mind that if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all. I'm not of that mind. The mods may disagree with flames like this, but I think they're necessary.

You really need to lighten up man. You talk like you have a stick up your $%^&. If you're too arrogant to take it, then fine. I'll just pick apart your post instead:

It's not for you to tell anyone what they need to do. Your opinion. I guess you're accustomed to mocking people who may shy away. I've always had an aversion to bullys. Remember, you began this by ridiculing a thank you to someone else. This had nothing to do with you. My behavior was reactionary.

"I think that you may be proud of your knowledge, what did you invent that made you rich?"

I didn't invent anything that made me rich. I suppose you did?
What I've done is irrelevant. I question on what basis do you hold yourself in such high esteem that you feel that you believe that can mock others who may possess less knowledge than you on a particular subject.

"You're presumptious. I'm not emotionally involved. No Hubris."

Are you kidding me? You're like the most arrogant person I've met on the net in years. Your impatience and emotion comes out in all of your posts. If you were truly logical and uninvolved you would have moved on and not posted again.

Again an opinion. I think you're just not accustomed to people tossing your garbage back to you. We never met.You were a heckler. Are you a clairvoiant psychologist?or perhaps a literary critic? As for my interest to honor your mundane drivel with a response, it probably was curiosity at best, like poking a bug just to see what it will do.

"2+2=4 has been said more than a million times and will be said many millions more. Thats how we learn."

That's what they invented FAQs and Stickies for. Everyone learns the hard way, true, but just take it with some humility.

I don't think you deserve humility. I humbly thanked the person who tried to provide some useful info.

"I guess if you had something better to do you wouldn't spend so much time on forums. TVM."

You're right I spend a lot of time on here. I'm not busy and I don't have a lot to do. When I'm not flaming people like you, I'm helping others or being helped. Does that make you better than me?

Too bad that you have nothing better to do. I don't think that you could flame a marshmellow, you'd have to study critical thinking first. Most of your responses are based on your own assumptions and interpretations. If you're so busy helping others then why are there so many unanswered threads? It just makes me busier than you.

Wrong again. That line is not an apology. I regret that there are obnoxious people that butt in to other peoples communications with derogatory comments.

I don't judge anyone. I don't believe that you could influence my opinion of this board. It's not you're forum. I don't care if you welcome me or not.

Thank for the information regarding on how to conduct research in your previous post.

You should also learn how to use the quote feature if you plan on rebutting something, and expect people to even attempt to discern it from another's comments.

Oh and thanks xnviews. It was just a playful jest. Had I typo'ed, I'd have taken it just as you did. :)

Because you have the board-given title "Notebook Guru" and have the name Sly, thus implying you are a false prophet, I believe?-- Or that you aren't really a guru?

Sly Notebook Guru-- one who claims to be a leader/teacher but truly lacks candor.

Ahhh gotcha. I missed the board given title. Never read those things.

In response to lacking candor; candor is also defined as the quality of being honest and straightforward in attitude and speech. I believe all candor was there when I called you a "pompous prick". That was honest and straightforward. Your bombastic speech means nothing. You can string together a sentence and rebut a response. Congratulations, so can the rest of the educated world.

As for your "aversion to bullies"...toughen up, you puss.

You should really read a book called "Crimes Against Logic" by Jamie Whyte. You just blew away four basic rules of your touted "critical thinking"

At last some substance. I will read the book.

As for the aversion to bullies thing, what I mean is that growing up I learned not to take their abuse because even if I lost, that this is what eventually put an end to their behavior. After I grew to a point where that was not problem for me any more I retained my disdain for oppressive behavior.
I went to public school in NYC.

    Thats funny.

Back to Lenovo, somethings going on with my order that be be of interest to any of you that have orders in process.

I payed Lenovo with a bank credit account(Chase) that had a $2,500 limit. My bill was like $2,295 total. Lenova split it into two orders and two charges. One was for the svce. agreement and low-jack at $142.00. The other was for the unit for $2,000 and change.. I was talking to a from the bank yesterdayand they told me that my account had been red-flagged several times. The bank told me that multiple hits for $2,100 and $395.00 had been attempted on the account originating form Lenovo Asia. They authorized the $142.00 and first $2,100 charge but declined the other attempted charges. Because of $2,500
limit the subsequent charges would have pushed the account past its limit. The bank knows my record with them of having never gone over my limit, and I made sure that my order with Lenovo didn't. this activity alerted the fraud dept. of the bank.I said that maybe the second $2,100 charge was a system generated mistake. They said that is possible, but what about the $395.00 charge. I told them that I didn't know anything about that. The bank rep told me that to them this type of behavior is indicative of an attempt to embezzle funds and that I should ask Lenovo to tell me why this is happening. I sent out 2 e-mails to Lenovo today.

I reviewed the tracking info. for the unit and saw that it was assembled in Inchon then shipped to Kowloon for testing. In Kowleen a billing info. request or confirmation was made.

I hope this is some sort of mistake, but I mentioned this to someone, a web developer, and he told me that you have to very careful with credit card accounts when dealing in Asia.

I thought that if I used a card with a higher other charges would have been authorized and it would be up to me to notice this when I reviewed my accounts. I would have to find it, then dispute it. Realistically I can see how something like this could slip by.

My thoughts in posting this is that if this is not a mistake or isolated incident, then those of you who have orders with Lenovo may want to check over your accounts.

On another Thread Lenovo cancelled my order because of the Meyer EPP. But I called yesterday and the guy said that he would rebook the order if I gave him the meyer info. Of course meyers info is Dead. I still have a quote from that order, and he told me he would put me on the Critical List, whatever that is. I dont know if I should wait for a 4th of July sale, or just go ahead and order off this quote.

So I was remembering this post the other day and laughing to myself. I especially like the "An evangelist and consultant". Who can forget a bashing post that has "An evangelist and consultant" which isn't even a complete sentence. You were just short of saying "I'm a godly evangelist and consultant HOW DARE you question by godliness". There I said it for you. That was priceless. However since I've never heard the term Politicks before I decided to look it up. I have heard the term Realpolitik (which is German by the way) which is probably what you were digging in your mind for.

Oh and this is the definition of Politicks as provided by Wikipedia:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politicks

I do love my rock bands created in 2001 at Radford University I have to admit.

You are correct. There was no definition for politicks, politiks or even the Greek politici, which means politics in Greek, in Wikipedia. So I wrote one for Wikipedia today. I put in under the term politiks as I am not exactly certain if my professor had included the c or not.

The term hubris reminded me of politiks, both being of Greek origin.

As I remember it the professor, a Ph.d in comparative literature who taught a class on Greek Culture and Literature, stated that the ancient greeks referred to this term as "The Politiks" and that it meant simply "self-interest".

I remember thinking, right, that makes sense, politics is really about self-interest. Self-interest and the alignment of groups with similar interests to pursue common goals with their greater collective influence.

You may find the translation of politiki here: http://www.kypros.org/cgi-bin/lexicon

Politiks-(Greek-πολιτικ ;)-Politiki=politics; "The Politiks" as referred to by the ancient Greeks meant self-interest. This definition was taught in a class by Dr.Erasmo S. Leiva-Merikakis (1977-2004)Professor of Modern and Classical Languages, Emeritus,University of San Francisco.,B.A., University of St. Thomas, 1970; M.A., Emory University, 1974; Ph.D., Emory University, 1976.
