Hi,
Ive just recieved my new X220 which I plan on doing a Windows 7 x64 clean install on.
Prior to doing this I've been thinking about changing the BIOS mode from EUFI/Legacy to UEFI.
Is the general consenus still that it isnt worth the hassle for a bit of a faster boot time ?
Thanks

doesn't make any difference, search google someone did 2 installations and found out that at the moment UEFI are not that great (yet). I installed mine to UEFI just to have the feeling that I am using the latest tech

With the intel 310 I boot in 24 seconds with legacy. Certain things I use wouldn't function correctly with UEFI. Four seconds off my boot time isn't worth it to me to lose some functionality.

I don't think there's anything wrong with installing and using UEFI, but that also means a GUID Partition Table (GPT) instead of MBR. If you decide to go down this path, look first to understand if some of the products you routinely use will work.
For instance, what do you use for backup and recovery? Do they support GPT?
Will your anti-virus product work?
On the bright side, you are getting some preliminary training for the next gen version of Windows rumored to use UEFI.
Q: New X220 - Legacy or UEFI BIOS ?
