    Hi guys.
I got the slice battery for x220 few days ago.
Wondering if i can plug in or unplug the slice battery while system is running?
I checked the manaul comes with the battery. But it doesn't mention anything regarding this.

I ve "hot unpluged" few times. Seems allright.
I just wanna double check it in case not damaging the system board.
    Thank you. ;)

Yes, it is hot swappable - at least I've been doing that to my T410 for the last year or so :p

Incidentally can I ask you something about the X220 slice? With the slice + the original (6/9 cell) how long can the X220 run, if I am playing movies continuously?

    Thanks!

I can rest asure. Thanks mate. :p

Slice compare to 9cell on the machine, 9Cell is the big daddy.
However slice isn't bad. At lease add some fun to the machine.
Last friday night i ve watched 2 Xvid movies through a Usb 2.0 Ext 2.5'' WD Scorpion Blue Mechanical HDD, Screen set to 3, loud speaker, full screen. I am not sure how long it takes, movies are Fast Five & Transformer 3 , at the end i got around 70% battery left. I was pretty happy with that.

On everyday use, i feel 9cell last much longer than slice battery.

Another thing, on slice it marked as Li-ion.
Actually it made of Li-Polymer(shows in Power manager).

Frankly i dont really need that slice, 9cell is enough for my entire working hours, I got the slice just for fun. :p

Getting a battery for fun, i guess you would only hear that from a Thinkpadder.

So how long can the 9 cells + slice last? 22 hrs?

Wow, two movies and still 70% left, that's quite impressive :)

Unfortunately I don't think it can takes up to 22 hours, at least on my driving style.(around 18 i reckon) However, it still the best in town for now. So, i'm happy.

Guys already have the 9-cell, IMO i'm NOT suggesting to buy the slice.
9-cell is more than enough. You not gonna work that long, do U?
Ya, I got the slice for Fun , plus it will fullfil my x220's destiny. :p
