I'm curious to know if any of you guys tried a raid configuration on your 2010 thinkpad with QM57 chipset?
I have 2 X25m G1 drives and want to set up a raid 0 configuration for my upcoming T410/W510 system. Any info?

I am pretty sure that the T410 only have one 2.5" slot.

Using ultrabay can easily gives you an option for another 2.5" drive.

I believe the W510 does support RAID, although there have been some owners reporting otherwise - one possibility is that RAID is only supported when ordered with that configuration, although I can't see why. The T-series does not support RAID.

Theoretically yes. T410s uses QS 57 chipsets and it's just a slimmer version of QM 57.
But we don't know how lenovo would implement it in the bios. So we still have a chance not having it.

There is no raid configuration when you cto a W510 am I right?
On the Sony vaio Z I just returned, which has a HM 57 chipset, you have to tweak in bios so the raid configuration could show up during post. Maybe this is the same issue with Thinkpads?

Hardware RAID isn't supported in the T410 and T510, even with the Ultrabay HDD adapter. Your only hope is software RAID.

Of course I'm talking about software raid.
There is no way lenovo would build in a raid card for these Thinkpads. :D
